Please read the following terms carefully. By submitting you agree to these terms for yourself and on behalf of your Institution/Company. “You” and “your” shall refer to you personally or your Institution/Company, as applicable.

If you do not agree to these terms then do not hit submit and do not participate in this offer.

To have your submission considered all entries must:

• Be in English
• Be complete
• Be an original work

1. By submitting your research spotlight, you agree to all of the terms and conditions listed here.
2. Employees of government institutions and healthcare professionals are not eligible to participate in this offer.
3. Use of the prize is governed by our standard terms and conditions,
4. Only one HiSeq 8 Gb USB drive per entrant will be provided, regardless of your number of entries.
5. You agree to obtain all authorizations and permissions from your Institution/Company that are required to allow you to make this submission and, if selected, have your research summary, name, and institution name used for marketing purposes by Illumina.
6. You agree to obtain all authorizations and permissions from your Institution/Company or others that are required to allow you to make this submission and, if selected, have your statement, name, and institution name used for all purposes, including marketing, by Illumina or its affiliates without any compensation and with or without attribution.
7. You agree that your submission and, if your statement is selected or if you are the winner in the drawing for HiSeq reagents for a single flow cell run, including HiSeq SBS and cluster kit reagents (HiSeq X Ten consumables and HiSeq library or sample preparation kits do not apply), the use of your statement by Illumina does not violate any rule, policy, or procedures of your Institution/Company. The prize value depends on the kit chosen by the winner.
8. You acknowledge and agree that any submission made hereunder is not being made in exchange for any promise of business to Illumina.
9. You agree that Illumina may contact you for purposes of marketing its products and services.
10. Once submitted, your materials and information cannot be returned.
11. All submissions must be made by 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on October 30, 2014, for the random drawing for one winner thereafter. Late submissions will not be considered.
12. Illumina will have full discretion regarding which statements are chosen to feature on the Illumina website; however, all entries are eligible for the random drawing for free reagents.
13. Illumina reserves the right to discontinue or modify this program at any time for any reason. In such event, Illumina will post a notice on this website. In the event of discontinuance, Illumina will have no liability to you, your employees, and agents or team members for such cancellation or modification.
14. Illumina may refuse to post a statement or provide the HiSeq SBS and cluster kit reagents to the winner of the random drawing if Illumina determines in its sole discretion that the provision of either would likely result in a violation of an applicable law, rule, or policy.
15. Illumina reserves the right to provide a raincheck or substitute or like incentive if the awards are not provided for reasons outside of Illumina’s control.
16. Each applicant is responsible for all of your own costs, and the costs of your employees and agents, incurred or that may be incurred in connection with this offer, including, without limitation, any tax liability and any costs associated with entering into and participating in this offer.
17. IN NO EVENT SHALL ILLUMINA, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS, BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING UNDER OR AS A RESULT OF ENTRANCE IN OR PARTICIPATION IN THE OFFER, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT ILLUMINA IS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE FOREGOING LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
18. ILLUMINA’S TOTAL AND CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING UNDER OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE OFFER SHALL IN NO EVENT EXCEED THE TOTAL VALUE OF THE AWARDS ELIGIBLE UNDER THE OFFER.
19. Any and all actions, claims, disputes, or controversies relating to this offer shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. By using this site, you expressly consent to the exclusive forum, jurisdiction, and venue of the state and federal courts of San Diego County, California, USA, in such actions, claims, disputes, or controversies.
