"Expanding Patient Access to Advanced Genomic Technologies: A Collaboration between Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian Hospital."

Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, recently announced an initiative with the goal to better understand health and potential disease risks of individual patients to inform more effective treatments, including therapeutic strategies.  As part of the initiative, Clinicians at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center will offer qualifying patients the option to consent into a protocol that would have their genomes sequenced. Through this program, clinical and organizational leaders are committed to expanding whole-genome sequencing to cancer and other common diseases more broadly, so this approach may eventually become a routine part of healthcare

During this session speakers will discuss the opportunities for implementing genomics into care. The session will focus on identifying opportunities for genomics to improve health equity, address challenges in helathcare, how to measure outcomes, and establish potential impact to patients and providers. We will explore the impact of genomic technologies towards a virtuous cycle of learnings and implementation to drive new insights into  patient care to improve healthcare outcomes.
