Illumina artificial intelligence: PrimateAI-3D and SpliceAI for precision medicine and drug discovery
Tuesday, April 16
12:25 PM–12:55 PM (ET)

PrimateAi-3D and Splice AI, leading algorithms from the Illumina Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, are disrupting how we approach drug discovery and precision medicine. In this session we will review the data illustrating the impact that these two algorithms have on our understanding of variants of unknown significance (VUS) and the non-coding region of the genome – which can no longer be thought of as “junk”.

Speaker
Kyle Kai-How Farh

Kyle Kai-How Farh, MD, PhD
VP & Distinguished Scientist, Illumina Artificial Intelligence Lab
Illumina

Dr. Kyle Kai-How Farh has been leading the Illumina Artificial Intelligence Lab for nine years. Prior to joining Illumina, Dr. Farh spent time as an attending physician at Boston Children’s Hospital and as a Fellow at The Broad Institute. He holds an MD from Harvard Medical School, a PhD in molecular biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a BS in computer science from Rice University.

Leverage genomic AI to deliver a more accurate and comprehensive genome
Wednesday, April 17
12:10 PM–12:40 PM (ET)

Illumina is leading genomic AI to understand the human genome and provide insights out of large-scale human genomic data. Cutting-edge AI algorithms developed by the Illumina Artificial Intelligence Laboratory have been integrated into the entire genomic workflow resulting in increased accuracy and efficiency in data analysis and interpretation. This integration holds immense potential to bolster drug discovery efficiency, provide deeper clinical insights and more accurate genetic risk prediction. Discover more about Illumina’s proprietary algorithms and their impact from DRAGEN Machine Learning, Emedgene Explainable AI (XAI), and Illumina Connected Annotations PrimateAI-3D and SpliceAI.

Speaker
Min Li

Min Li, PhD
Senior Director of Product Management
Illumina

Dr. Min Li is the Senior Director of Product Management at Illumina, where she spearheads the product team responsible for shaping the software and bioinformatics solutions strategy. Her focus encompasses supporting oncology testing, genetic disease testing, reproductive health, and infectious disease testing across all four of Illumina's key clinical segments. Recently she led the effort to drive product strategy with genomic AI embedded into Illumina's end-to-end bioinformatics solutions to unlock the power of the human genome with large-scale genomic data. With over fifteen years of experience in the biotech industry, Dr. Li is a strategic business leader with a deep background in genomic sequencing. Prior to joining Illumina, she held key positions at Amazon, Thermo Fisher Scientific, IDBS, and Partek, where she managed various Next Generation Sequencing products. Dr. Li earned her PhD in Biochemistry from the Ohio State University, cementing her expertise in the field.
