Dr. Sharon Low
Head of Neurosurgical Service

Sharon Low is a specialist neurosurgeon from the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI). She is currently the Head of Neurosurgical Service, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Her main interests are centred in neuro-oncology, particularly in treatment-resistant CNS neoplasms in children. In 2015, she successfully defended her research PhD thesis titled ‘Characterizing therapeutically resistant human glioblastoma cells’ at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She continues in pursuit of researchinterests centred around malignant paediatric brain tumours. She strongly believes in a holistic approach in the management of patients afflicted by difficult brain tumours, whereby there is a need to combine good neurosurgical techniques, in-depth molecular research, and more importantly for the patients and their families, psychosocial support for better disease management.

Dr. Satish S, with a rich experience of over 31 years as a practicing Neurosurgeon and Spine Surgeon, has tremendous experience and skill in dealing with a wide spectrum of Neuro and Spinal problems. Currently being an Additional Director of Neuro & Spine Surgery Department at Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore, India, he specializes in most modern techniques like Micro-Neurosurgery, Skull Base Surgery, Craniofacial reconstruction surgery, minimally invasive surgery for correcting spine deformities and Spinal Instrumentation.

He has performed over 1500 Brain Surgeries and 2500 Complex Spine Surgeries (Microsurgery) and also has his own innovative cost-effective surgical methods for both Spine & Brain disorders. He has published about 24 papers as author/co-author in national/international journals.
