Details

Feeding the world in the midst of climate change and an ever-growing population demands scientists have access to scalable, flexible and sustainable genomic tools that further research and build solutions. At LGC, we partner with leading scientists to empower them with fit for purpose technologies to ensure their mission critical projects are a success.

In this webinar, industry expert will be showcasing how innovation and creativity are being leveraged to overcome technical hurdles in the application of genomic technologies to solve the issues facing laboratories who are accelerating molecular breeding through high throughput genotyping with PCR and NGS.

Innovating your molecular breeding program with Amp-Seq One, the first one-step targeted GBS workflow

Introducing Amp-Seq One, the first one-step targeted genotyping by sequencing workflow that can analyse thousands of samples across thousands of markers as quickly as end-point genotyping. The simplified workflow has been designed to halve library prep time and double throughput. Amp-Seq One delivers high quality sequencing data on a wide variety of species, automation platforms and on diverse sample materials obtained from various purification methods. This provides game-changing benefits to agricultural biotechnology companies as it increases their throughput which results in a higher predictive breeding accuracy and an accelerated time to market for new traits.

Lightning quick DNA extraction – development and deployment of a novel 5min sbeadex Lightning chemistry

Say hello to sbeadex™ Lightning - delivering high-purity DNA with high-yield in typically 5 minutes, saving up to 40 minutes per sample and increasing throughput by as much as 10 times. You will also hear from our scientist in this seminar on how we have helped our plant and animal breeding customers in the globe on customizing DNA purification chemistry for difficult and challenging sample types.

Dr. Darshna Vyas
Senior Scientist,
LGC Diagnostics & Genomics

Darshna’s position as a Senior Scientist specialising in plant genetics has enabled the translation of LGC to the global plant breeding community in all species. She was the project manager for Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Generation Challenge Program to ensure the successful application of KASP assay genotyping as an advanced molecular marker tool for breeding programs in developing countries undertaken for 12 agronomical important crops. She is actively involved in the African Orphan Crops consortium with a successful industrial grant application for rice conferring disease resistance.
