Infectious diseases continue to pose significant global health challenges, driven by emerging pathogens, antimicrobial resistance, endemic infections, and evolving outbreaks. Rapid and accurate identification of infectious agents is critical for effective disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, treatment decisions, and public health preparedness. Advances in next-generation sequencing (NGS) have transformed infectious disease research by enabling comprehensive analysis of pathogens at unprecedented depth and resolution.

This webinar will showcase Illumina’s comprehensive library preparation portfolio for infectious disease research, featuring workflows for whole-genome sequencing (WGS), targeted amplicon sequencing, metagenomics, and targeted enrichment panels, along with an overview of data analysis options. These approaches enable accurate pathogen detection and characterization, microbial genomic surveillance, strain typing, variant identification, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) profiling, and transmission tracking supporting a wide range of applications in infectious disease research, public health surveillance, and outbreak investigations.
