The 16th Australasian Plant Breeding Conference (APBC) Tradeshow will be held from 9-11 May 2022 and will proceed as a “hybrid” event with face-to-face and virtual content delivery. The 2022 theme “Towards 2050” has been chosen to capture the long-term nature of plant breeding, and the essential role the discipline will play in delivering food and prosperity to the predicted world population of 9 billion by this date, in the face of decreasing available production area, climate change and demand for new products.
Harnessing next-generation sequencing (NGS) in agriculture will allow for development of more productive and sustainable practices, so that together, we can meet the challenges of the changing environment and the demands of feeding a growing population.
