This 2-day event, on the August 28th and September 10th, is jointly organised by the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, Department of Pharmacy, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, as well as the National University Health System.
Illumina are gold sponsors at this event and Thomas Klemm will be presenting on September 10th, talk titled “Cost-effective, high performance PGx. Precisely what you need”, where we will introduce our PGx portfolio.
The Pharmacogenomics Workshop represents a forum for learning and discussion among clinicians, pharmacists, scientists with an interest in pharmacogenomics, and health care professionals in general.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the workshop, participants should be proficient in interpreting pharmacogenetic testing results, understanding the pharmacogenomics best practice advisories and clinical decision support, and using this to provide appropriate individualized patient-specific advice.
By the end of this short workshop, participants should be able to:
  • Understand the basic concepts in genetics and pharmacogenetics
  • Explain elements of clinical pharmacogenetics guidelines
  • Provide examples of pharmacogenetic services in clinical practice
  • Interpret pharmacogenetic testing results, understand best practice advisories and clinical decision support related to therapeutics and adjust prescription based on patient’s genetic makeup
  • Understand the Ethical, Social and Legal implications of clinical pharmacogenetic implementation
